"Nostalgia - This is my way of escaping the chaos for a while.
~ Avinash Machiraju

The Moment of Discovery of my Happiness
I was stressed and upset over quite a few things happening in my life and that's when I happen to notice this amazing podcast on the Instagram Page of ChaiBisket. Being attracted by the poster of the podcast - Dabba Kathalu, I plugged in the earplugs, closed my eyes and began to listen relaxing in my armchair - The first story, that I heard, Birthday in School ~ Meerante Unnollu ra (31st episode of the podcast). It just took me back into my childhood days. I had a tour visit of all the childhood memories flashing across my mind as I heard the narration of the podcast told either as a story or in bits of incidents. As the podcast finished I had a smile on my face because it made me relive those childhood memories in my adulthood. I felt happy, genuinely very happy and realized how good our lives were. Hence, I scrolled through the ChaiBisket page and found a series of podcasts and felt, "Damn!! How on earth was I missing this from so many days?!"

The Crew
This fantastic podcast is produced by the famous telugu digital content creation channel ChaiBisket, popular for its YouTube videos and meme pages on social media platforms. The concept of the podcast Dabba Kathalu, literally means "The Tales of the Terrace" is envisioned by Avinash Machiraju, Areyyavi, the Digital Creator at ChaiBisket. The inception of these beautiful tales were composed when Avinash felt that all of the people are bundled up with news updates of Coronavirus and are locked in their specific households. While some of us felt claustrophobic and restricted, this 25-year-old youngster saw this lockdown as an opportunity to pause our fast paced lives for a few moments and observe the tiny little precious things around us, which apparently make our lives beautiful. Digging deeper, he believes that Nostalgia, the childhood memories are his escape from life's chaos for a while. Avinash is backed by a pair of young professionals - Tarak Sai Prathik, tsprathik, the Editor and Sumanth, bun_t7, the Designer. The soothing background music is enchanting; the perfect sync and editing of the sound of various oldies acts as a time machine taking us into the era of the 90's. Every poster has the backdrop of the above clipped picture with a swaggy, quirky title which defines the theme of the podcast. Each podcast lasts from four minutes to nine minutes and as of today they have completed 44 episodes successfully.

What makes Dabba Kathalu so special?
Those readers who haven't heard the podcast must be wondering what is so special about it.
The tiniest memories of our childhood and teenage years like Panchatantra, Raincoat, Pani puri, First Crush, School Prayer, Iyengar Bakery, Slam book, Inter exam etc are tuned into fascinating episodes with an alluring narrative. This makes it interesting and special. The narrative is gripping because of the humble, quirky & peculiar voiceover given by Avinash, who was also the former Radio Jockey at Radio Mirchi. His conviction in storytelling makes it believable for the audience that they are in that moment, reliving those memories and he was just their friend or their shadow who has experienced all those memories with them. It's extremely rejuvenating!! Avinash's simple easy-going monologues with a fluent native Telugu slang is an added feather to the cap. When questioned by an interviewer about why this concept of Terrace Tales is made into a podcast and not a video, Avinash asserted, "A video is always followed by judgments on how a person looks and his body language. Voice does not have that barrier." This experienced RJ understood the magic behind the power of voice, simple storytelling, therefore played the charade accordingly to bring in colorful experiences for his listeners.

The podcast has gained a lot of attention over social media wherein people from across places lauded the work. It was a moment of pride for Avinash when some doctors from Bangalore messaged him saying that they are taking out time from their packed schedule solely to listen to Dabba Kathalu which relieved them from the routine stress amidst the global health crisis. Undoubtedly, the podcast is serving a bigger purpose beyond entertainment.
I personally loved this podcast and highly recommend it. It made me realize the fact that small things that exist in our lives do matter a lot. These reminiscences show us who we truly are as a person and what life has had in store for us. It's fun, joyful, emotional and extremely endearing. Those who haven't heard it please do hear out. Today Avinash and team from ChaiBisket are recollecting memories for us but a few years down the line I know that this podcast - Dabba Kathalu, will be the most loving memory that I crossed paths during the nation-wide pandemic lockdown in 2020.
Kudos to the entire team! Thank you for curating such amazing content!

'The Lady with the Lamp' - Relevance in 2020 Pandemic Crisis

" Lo! in that house of misery A lady with a lamp I see               Pass through the glimmering of gloom               And flit from room to room. "  ~ Santa Filomena  , poem written by Henry Wodsworth Longfellow.  On the 200th Birth Anniversary of Florence Nightingale, famously addressed as the "Lady with the Lamp", International Nurses Day is commemorated on 12th May every year. This is a tribute to the entire nursing fraternity in the healthcare sector. In most of the countries, women largely account for the front-line healthcare workers as nurses and midwives. In India, Kerala state is known for producing the highest number of professional nurses for the country and even abroad. By definition,  Nursing   encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. Nursing includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people.  (Sou

An Insight on Coronavirus: The Structure & Viral Replication

" Our greatest enemy is not the virus itself. It's fear, rumors and stigma. And our greatest assets are facts, reasons and solidarity.
