JOURNEY OF A. WORDSMITH

The Initial Glimpse:
On one evening of a regular day in the year 2008, I had to write a poem. It was the  homework for the day assigned by my English Teacher in my fifth grade. My first poem was titled as 'The Village Life'. My mother helped me to write the poem. She corrected my spelling mistakes, told me about the rhyme scheme, guided me on how to use synonyms in writing. It was a beautiful experience writing the poem sitting in the center hall of my house. I can't forget the amount of joy and happiness it gave me when I finished writing it and was reciting it to my mother.
I still read this poem because that shows me where & how I started my journey as a writer; when and how did I first fall in love with my writing; and how far I have come in my journey.

The Idea of Wordsmith:
The idea of "Wordsmith" as my pen name came from the very meaning of the word, which is, 'A skilled user of words'. By tagging myself as Wordsmith, I aspire to master this skill in every possible domain. I want to build and nudge a striking impact in the societal vicinity through my eloquent usage of these words in different forms - written and spoken. Alongside the mastery in usage of words, I aim to nurture, enhance and render authenticity and creativity in my line of work.
In a nutshell, Wordsmith reminds me to better myself and be a creative, authentic and responsible writer with each passing day.

'The Lady with the Lamp' - Relevance in 2020 Pandemic Crisis

" Lo! in that house of misery A lady with a lamp I see               Pass through the glimmering of gloom               And flit from room to room. "  ~ Santa Filomena  , poem written by Henry Wodsworth Longfellow.  On the 200th Birth Anniversary of Florence Nightingale, famously addressed as the "Lady with the Lamp", International Nurses Day is commemorated on 12th May every year. This is a tribute to the entire nursing fraternity in the healthcare sector. In most of the countries, women largely account for the front-line healthcare workers as nurses and midwives. In India, Kerala state is known for producing the highest number of professional nurses for the country and even abroad. By definition,  Nursing   encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. Nursing includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people.  (Sou

An Insight on Coronavirus: The Structure & Viral Replication

" Our greatest enemy is not the virus itself. It's fear, rumors and stigma. And our greatest assets are facts, reasons and solidarity. "  ~ Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General  The pandemic COVID-19 is a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) caused by novel CoronaVirus-2, SARS-CoV-2 , which is transmitted mainly by contact with infectious person or material; and is characterized by symptoms of fever, cough, common cold, shortness of breath and may progress to pneumonia/respiratory failure. Dabba Kathalu!! - Nostalgic visit via a Millennial's Narrative

" Nostalgia - This is my way of escaping the chaos for a while . "  ~ Avinash Machiraju  The Moment of Discovery of my Happiness I was stressed and upset over quite a few things happening in my life and that's when I happen to notice this amazing podcast on the Instagram Page of ChaiBisket. Being attracted by the poster of the podcast - Dabba Kathalu , I plugged in the earplugs, closed my eyes and began to listen relaxing in my armchair - The first story, that I heard, Birthday in School ~ Meerante Unnollu ra (31st episode of the podcast). It just took me back into my childhood days. I had a tour visit of all the childhood memories flashing across my mind as I heard the narration of the podcast told either as a story or in bits of incidents. As the podcast finished I had a smile on my face because it made me relive those childhood memories in my adulthood. I felt happy, genuinely very happy and realized how good our lives were. Hence, I scrolled through the ChaiBisket pag
